Issue: The intro video does not play at startup.

Answer: This is a common problem with Steam. It does not seem to be able to handle startup videos very reliably. If the intro video does not play for you at startup, then I'm sad to say there's not much you can do to make it work.

I recommend you view the intro video before you play the game, though, independently of Steam. It is a standard avi file encoded with the DivX codec. It's located in the rewolf/media folder and it's called rewolf.avi. It's not necessary to view beforehand, but it does set up the plot for the events of the game. It's also a damn cool intro!

Issue: The intro video plays at startup, but the first few seconds are green/black/don't appear correctly.

Answer: This is another symptom of Steam's less-than-perfect ability to play startup videos. However, the rest of the video past the opening seconds should work fine. If not, I recommend once again viewing the video outside of Steam.

Issue: There are a bunch of maps in the multiplayer create server list that don't seem to work right.

Answer: For some reason which I cannot identify, the singleplayer maps are also appearing in the multiplayer map list. They only have one spawn and few, if any, weapons and items in them. To avoid this, simply do not choose any of the singleplayer maps when creating a server. They do not appear in the map cycle, so they won't come up in the rotation either.

The five multiplayer-specific maps in Gunman Chronicles are as follows:
frontier
highnoon
meltdown
rusted
takeoff
